Burwick Law's class action lawsuit involving the Communi3 NFT and $SCI token project has been covered by Law360.
The case, Orea v. Opera Event, Inc., alleges that the operators of Communi3 marketed the project as a legitimate Web3 software business while running a coordinated scheme to sell a series of Solana NFTs and tease a cryptocurrency token, $SCI, that never materialized. Among the most striking allegations is that the founders manufactured the appearance of blue-chip enterprise clients, projected a $250 million to $500 million token valuation, and then quietly abandoned the platform: a so-called "rug pull" that left buyers holding worthless digital assets.
The Law360 article details the allegations of fabricated business credibility, serially broken token launch deadlines, and the eventual collapse of the platform. The case is pending in federal court in the Southern District of New York.
